  The recent article in The Monitor portrays an ugly situation brought on by shortsighted people. Does the church just want propaganda or would they like to share the truth. I always felt that the purpose of the church was to shed light on the truth NOT to hide it under a bushel. Father Jerry is acting reprehensibly. The citizens of Hidalgo County need help from other sources THAN Hidalgo County if we are to provide medical care for basically illegal immigrants. The citizens of Hidalgo County are in financial straits already, and the Healthcare District which is beholding to no one is simply a cash cow for Doctor's Hospital at Renaissance. The Church should be ashamed of itself for the way it is involved in this and the actions they are taking! If Jesus were to walk into any of the involved churches, I have little doubt that He would come in with whip in hand, driving out the modern day money lenders!
